About Me - Jim Gatschene Photography

 

Based in the scenic 1000 Islands region along the St. Lawrence River in Ontario, I am a photographer with over 55 years of experience behind the lens. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to train with several well-known professional photographers, shaping a deep appreciation for composition, light, and storytelling.

Motivated by and based on my own photography, I have broadened my creative practice in recent years to incorporate AI-generated imagery. Using digital tools and software, I enhance and reinterpret images to create pieces that often resemble paintings, blending realism with artistic flair. The result is a body of work that bridges traditional photography and modern digital art, inspired by the landscapes and atmosphere of Eastern Ontario.
